At Accessoreez everyone is more and more frustrated and sadden by what is happening to our friends from the sea.

When the Oil spill was fresh I remember clearly walking into the studio – happy because of the client who was coming in – she was getting something suited just to her — when I caught a smell on the air.

A few people were nearby and we  talked about it – someone had heard it was the smell of the oil carrying in the air with the way the air currents where flowing.  I was sure we would have to smell it the” whole time” over the “next  few days” it took to fix it.

I was wrong – the smell only a full week longer then I expected and the oil spill – well whoever in the world would imagine that BP would allow this to go on for so long? (!!)

Designing a piece to use for helping the animal life.  A portion of the design will go to an animal rescue group.  Looking at sea turtles.  Looking at dolphins. Thinking about how even the little things are at this moment dieing – the star fish and sea urchins.

Do you have a favorite image of sea life?   Why not share it with us here.  We may use it in our Marine Rescue Jewelry line.

Below you’ll find a list of links to articles on the subject – hope they’ll be of interest to you and make you as mad as we are.  We need to protect the animals who can’t protect themselves and whose lives BO doesn’t value as much as their profits.

  1. I know what you mean about being bummed out while trying to create. This is soo sad. My hope is that this will get this country going seriously to alternate fuels and stop our dependence on foreign oil.
