Well, thank goodness this isn’t really an Accessoreez billboard – it would be just one more thing to restock or replace.
There are two things that become apparent and ironic as you become more successful as a studio artist:
One is that you use more things – whether it’s glass rods, or bangles, or just wear down the lead in my lead pencil.
Two is that you need more things – different things then you ever did before. I remember out of college when I had to buy my first fax machine. It seemed very important and business like. It was also an expense of layout, ink and paper I had never had before.
The picture above was from an app I found on my groovy new Iphone. The Iphone that I got to do business with, I swear I did. Talk about a change in my cell phone service bill. Of course now I can keep in touch with my customers so much easier and instantly through twitter, email and the like. It’s easy for me to be at a show, snap a picture and send it to flickr for the world to see.
So I think, like that fax machine, it goes under cost of doing business. Big dreams. Big business. Big expenses.
At least I ain’t paying for a new billboard!
